Stephen O’Neil was born and brought up in Edinburgh. He graduated from Napier University with a BSc in Industrial Design. His medium is photography, digitally manipulated. He has been living in Glasgow’s Southside for nearly 10 years.
O’Neil’s work is straightforward, striking, playful and dynamic. It is inspired from architecture, and his images reflect a vibrant and historically rich image of Glasgow and Edinburgh implicit with mood and rigorous with character.
The works are reflective of perspective, direct and earnest in their content, creating a bold landscape, imaginary and real. The works inspire the mind to stretch and make relationships between an idea and a place, whether that place is somewhere we know or somewhere we create in our mind.
