Margery King graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1992, with a BA (Hons) in Illustration. Following a very successful degree show, she began exhibiting in Glasgow and Edinburgh galleries. She exhibits in R.G.I. and P.A.I., in both drawing and painting exhibitions.
The female form is her inspiration, interpreted in a contemporary manner. Her work is usually on a small scale, representational but not slavishly so. It can be mysterious and vaguely mythical.
She attempts to generate a narrative, not through a complete story but depicted to allow the observer to develop their own conclusion of the meaning of the image. At the very least, she desires to create images of beauty and mystery that allows the viewer to form their own personal interpretation.
Her work is in many private collections in the UK, Europe, Canada and the US.
