Keith Richards Mitchell is an emerging Scottish artist born in Durmfermline, Fife.
Keith’s work has been exhibited in many galleries around the UK. His paintings are rich in symbolism and contain a strong social commentary with a contemporary edge. His exhibition at The Brickhouse Gallery in London, in 2000, is believed to have influenced Banksy’s work in the area.
He is currently producing a new body of work incorporating iconic images within unfamiliar pictorial contexts to alter and divert their power.
Keith says: “Art, for me, is about ideas, and Painting is my main discipline. I am interested in the nature of Art within its relationship to culture, past and present and what might happen to our minds, if a mighty celestial hand shuffled the deck of related images.”
